What goes into NBA Squad Sweep boards
NBA boards ask for G, F or C instead of an exact position, because the source keeps one position per player. We check it against his height, so a small point guard filed as a forward counts as a guard, and a tall wing filed as a guard counts as a forward.
Before 1994-95, or when a team’s list looks short, the roster comes from a second source.
Swingmen get filed as a guard or a forward. If the board shows a neighboring position too, those names count.
About the data
NBA seasons 1980-81 to 2025-26, from ESPN.
The stat games start in 1991-92, when ESPN’s NBA leaderboards fill out.
Stat terms
- Per game:
- a season average. Players need enough games to be ranked.
- PPG / RPG / APG:
- points, rebounds and assists per game.
- Double-double:
- a game with 10 or more in two of points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks.
