Terms of Use
Trivball is a free sports-trivia game made for fun. By using it, you agree to the following. It's short on purpose.
Not affiliated
Trivball is an independent fan project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by ESPN, the NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB, any soccer league or competition, or any team, athlete, or governing body. All team names, team logos, league names, and player images are the property of their respective owners and are used here for identification and commentary in a non-commercial trivia game. If you own rights to material shown here and want it removed, get in touch and it will be taken down.
What this is
A free game for entertainment and educational use. There are no accounts, no payments, and nothing for sale. Game data (player stats, headshots, team logos) is fetched live from public sources including ESPN and Wikipedia, so it can be incomplete, delayed, or wrong — nothing here should be relied on as an official record.
Fair use of the game
Play it, share it, enjoy it. Please don't try to break it, overload it, scrape it in bulk, resell access to it, or use it for anything unlawful. In party mode you choose your own nickname — keep it civil. Nicknames are visible to other players in your room, and you're responsible for what you type.
A nickname is the only thing anyone can put on this site, and rooms are private to whoever has the code. If someone in yours chooses one they shouldn't have, the host can remove them from the room at any time using the player list on the host screen. If anything needs reporting beyond that, get in touch and we'll deal with it.
What's ours
The parts of Trivball that aren't someone else's — the source code, the design, the writing, the game formats and rules, the icons and the share cards — are original work and belong to the person who made them. You're welcome to play the games, screenshot them, stream them, and write about them. Copying the site's code or reproducing its games as your own product isn't covered by that. Rights not given here are reserved.
Who can use it
Anyone can play — there's nothing to sign up for. If you're under 18, that's fine, but check with a parent or guardian before using the party features, since a nickname you choose is shown to other people in the room.
Blocking
If someone is breaking the rules above — overloading the site, scraping it in bulk, or using party mode to abuse other players — we can block access, close a room, or withdraw the service from them, without notice. Hosts can already remove anyone from their own room.
Things this site depends on
Trivball runs on third-party services and public data sources, including Cloudflare for hosting and ESPN and Wikipedia for statistics and imagery. When one of them is slow, wrong, or down, the games will be too. Those services are outside our control and have their own terms, and we don't promise any of them will keep working.
No warranty
The service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. It may be unavailable, interrupted, or change at any time. To the fullest extent allowed by law, Trivball and its maker are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site.
Nothing here takes away rights you have under consumer law that can't be excluded. If a law where you live gives you a guarantee we aren't allowed to contract out of, that guarantee still applies and this section is read as limited to whatever the law does permit.
Changes
These terms may be updated from time to time. Continuing to use the site means you accept the current version. See also our Privacy notice.
